If I had used just one slice of cheese…

…that peice of toast would probably not have turned into a big bowl of fat.

This is my way of saying: “Friends, I am well. My lack of interesting blog posts is a direct result of the lack of interesting things happening. There were no helicopter flights last week, nor very interesting projects or anything else worth videoblogging over.”

In the next few days, I plan to make a short video of the area I live in at night. The thing with it is, after midnight, this area just completely dies. There is not a soul around, and the atmosphere is filled with the humanity-produced sound of a society at sleep. Traffic lights blipping, air conditioners compressing, and lights turned on everywhere. I first noticed this a few days ago after an almost-all-nighter, when I had to walk home alone. It was a bit chilling (in the scary sense) to be out alone in such an atmosphere. Reminded me of movies like I am Legend.

Oh, and maybe I can show you some of the stuff I’ve been working on as well. There are a few big deadlines approaching this week, so stay tuned!

hahaha, ziet er toch best lekker uit dat broodje!
En die auto is trouwens echt ‘dabomb’. Serieus, kan je die niet meenemen naar Nederland straks? Echt te vet…

hoi Floris, gefeliciteerd met je mooie auto! Je draait er kennelijk je hand niet voor om om in een auto te stappen met het stuur aan de andere kant en dan ook nog links te moeten rijden. Ik vind het erg stoer en dat terwijl je nog geen jaar je rijbewijs hebt. Petje af!
We genieten van je verslagen; ik iets meer dan dopakeesjes, who can hardly read or understand a word of english. Maar ik vertaal het wel een beetje voor hem. We hadden wat problemen om je muziekstukje af te spelen op de Apple maar het lukte me net voor t eerst wel op de laptop(haperde eerst om de paar seconden)en het klinkt erg mooi. Het zou goeie filmmuziek zijn.
Ik zal het opa laten horen als hij morgen thuiskomt. Hij overnacht in een hotel vanwege een lezing en andere afspraak ver van huis.

Hoi Floris,
Eindelijk heb ik je Symphony Song eens goed kunnen beluisteren via de laptop van Mirjam. Ik vind het een prachtig stukje muziek, mooi opgebouwd vanuit een simpele eenstemmige inzet naar een veelheid van kleuren en tegenmelodieën.
Je hebt (waarschijnlijk zonder het te weten) gebruik gemaakt van de oude dorische kerkmodus: d-e-f-g-a-b-c-d. Het typisch eigene van deze toonsoort is het accoord g-b-d. Je hebt dit accoord heel mooi bewaard tot het laatst en dat geeft de compositie (want zo mag ik het wel noemen) een fraaie bekroning. Leuk dat je dit zonder enige theoretische kennis hebt toegepast.
Mijn complimenten. Ik zou zeggen…. componeer nog eens wat!
De muziek laat in ieder geval horen dat je goed in je vel zit in Sidney.
Veel succes en plezier bij al je nieuwe levensontdekkingen.

Van zo’n toastie loopt het water in mijn mond, helemaal nu ik weer eens een keertje aan het lijnen ben :-(
Alles gaat hier zijn gangetje, net als bij jou blijkbaar. Alles went, zelfs een stage in Australie.
